DUBAI: The Khalifa Empowerment Programme “Aqdar” conducted a comprehensive review of its environmental initiatives during a workshop held at the House of Sustainability in Expo City Dubai, coinciding with COP28.

The workshop saw the participation of Counselor Dr. Ibrahim Al-Dabal, CEO of the Khalifa Aqdar Empowerment Programme, Colonel Rashid Al-Obed, the programme’s general coordinator, and various esteemed guests.

These initiatives focus on cultivating environmental awareness among youth and adolescents, aligning Aqdar’s commitment to active community engagement.

These initiatives aim to develop skills, build teams, and instil awareness about environmental conservation and tree planting. Emphasising the role of trees in air purification and their contribution to combating climate change, the initiatives also aim to protect beaches from soil erosion.

Furthermore, the Khalifa Empowerment Programme organises various recreational and educational events in the Emirates’ reserves. These events include lecture
s promoting community awareness of environmental issues and tree-planting activities. Notably, the programme successfully planted 50,000 mangrove trees, showing its commitment to environmental conservation.
