Aviation Minister inspects Sphinx International Airport

Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Abbas on Saturday 08/10/2022 ordered the bodies concerned to accelerate the completion of Sphinx International Airport’s development project to join service as soon as possible.

The minister was inspecting the last stages of the airport’s development project, which includes a plan to expand its terminal from 3,600 to 24,000 square meters and increase its capacity from 300 to 900 passengers/hour, raising the annual capacity to 1.2 million passengers.

Abbas also stressed the importance of using solar energy to light buildings in coordination with the Civil Aviation Authority; to achieve the highest levels of safety and environmental quality, in addition to expanding the use of energy-saving LED bulbs at the airport.
