Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has praised the UAE for the excellent organisation of the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28).

In exclusive statements to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) on the sidelines of his participation in the conference, Lukashenko said, “It is quite difficult to organise such conferences, but the UAE has managed to do so in the best way.”

He also sent his greetings to the Emirati people and thanked them for their hospitality.

Prior to the official opening of COP28, Lukashenko held meetings with his counterparts from Azerbaijan, Serbia, Cuba, Zimbabwe, Equatorial Guinea, Congo, Togo, and Botswana.

He noted, “I have already met with several leaders, especially from the African continent. This is a new trend for us.”

During COP28, Lukashenko is presenting Belarus’ approach and proposals for addressing climate change.
