Bishop of the Holy Sarkis Church in Tehran, Sibawayh Sarkissian, affirmed that Syria embraced the Armenians and supported them in their ordeals that they faced following the Ottoman genocide to which they were subjected, considering that Syria’s recognition of this genocide is greatly appreciated by the Armenians all over the world.

This bishop comments came during a meeting with Syrian Ambassador in Tehran,  Shafiq Dayoub who extended his congratulations to the Armenians in Iran on the occasion of the glorious Easter.

Sarkissian stressed that the terrorist war on Syria is an act  of the Zionist entity, which is trying to destroy the wonderful model that Syria represents among all its sons.

The Armenian Grand Bishop in Tehran appreciated Syria’s great efforts and its role in preserving the Christian presence in the region, stressing the Armenians absolute support for Syria, its unity, sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence.

In turn, Ambassador Dayoub, pointed out that the celebration of Easter coincided with the commemoration of the 107th anniversary of the Ottoman genocide that the Armenians were subjected to, deferring to the continuation of Erdogan’s regime in practicing crimes of genocide and occupation and supporting terrorism that was practiced by the Ottomans.
