Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue congratulates Syrian people on occasion of blessed Ramadan and happy Eid al-Fitr

The Papal Embassy of the Holy See of the Vatican State in Damascus congratulated the Syrian people on the occasion of the blessed month of Ramadan and the approaching  of happy Eid al-Fitr.

In a message entitled” Christians and Muslims “Sharing in Joys and Sorrows, President of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue, Cardinal Miguel Angel Ayuso Guigsot extended his best wishes and heartly congratulations to Muslims, wishing  peace and joy would prevail on this occasion as a sign of common humanity and the resulting brotherhood, and praying that it makes it a blessed Eid full of goodness and blessings for the Syrian people.

The President of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue concluded his message by emphasizing the importance of rapprochement and solidarity with friends at times of crisis and sorrow rather than at times of joy and peace, saying, “We hope, dear Muslim brothers and sisters, that we will continue to share with all our neighbors and friends their joys and sorrows, because God’s love includes all of humanity and the entire universe.”
