BOUCHKIAN HONORED OLD INDUSTRIALISTS AND TECHNICIANS: THE LEBANESE BRAND OF FOOD PRODUCTS IS NOW IN THE EQUATION OF INTERNATIONAL MARKETS AFTER IMPOSING ITS QUALITY AND SPECIFICATIONS

Minister of Industry, George Boushekian, honored, this afternoon, at the ministry, during a ceremony held in coordination with the “MEFOSA” Foundation, a food safety consultant in Lebanon and the Middle East headed by Atef Idris, veteran industrialists and technicians, in recognition of their “efforts over 25 years in improving The quality of national food production, and their opening to export markets in more than 65 countries in the world through their commitment to ISO and HACCP standards and with regard to the environment and their mandatory conditions.The

 

ceremony was attended by the Director General of the Ministry, Danny Gideon, Idris, President of the Food Industries Syndicate, Mounir Al-Bassat, and the honorees: Garabit Kaakjian, Track Amgolian , Nazih Baalbaki, Adel Hassan, Sabaa Nasreddin, Nidal Al-Jazzar, and Ali Zuaiter.

 

Bouchkian praised “the dedication to work and sacrifice for the sake of development and progress, for the benefit of the economy and industry,” congratulating “retired industry experts who were like the unknown soldier who was keen on the institution, its sustainability, continuity and prosperity,” and said: “The Lebanese brand has become in the field of The food industries are at the heart of the equation in global markets and have imposed themselves with their quality and specifications, and this is what we aspire to generalize on other industrial products to gain consumer confidence and increase their export and competitive capabilities.”

 

Idris

then presented the “Mifusa proposed plan for the development of the food industry and the revival of the sector, in line with the requirements of globalization and the priorities of export to countries of expatriation, as stipulated in the agreements signed by Lebanon with the European Union and Arab countries, as well as the programs of the World Trade Organization WTO.”

 

The industrial zones,  and Bushkian had met a delegation from the Industrial Zones Committee in the Industrialists’ Association, which included: Sakhr Azar, Hassan Yassin, Michel Sayah, Ghassan Saliba, and Adnan Ataya. The necessity of directing two industrial zones, after completing the necessary studies, setting them up in accordance with international specifications and standards, equipping them with modern infrastructures with full services and required requirements, and benefiting from insured financing from European bodies, was discussed.
