The highly transmissible Omicron variant of the coronavirus continues its frenetic spread around the world, said the acting health minister during a Cabinet meeting held on Thursday under Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli.
The meeting aimed to follow up on the epidemiological situation of the coronavirus at both the global and domestic levels.
The total consumed doses that have been used in vaccination so far reached 66.6 million, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar said.
He, meanwhile, noted that that the number of citizens who got the two doses is 28.7 million while those who received the booster shots amount to 672,000.
