BEIJING, 13th September, 2023 (WAM) — Han Zheng, Vice President of China, received Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), currently visiting China. Zheng welcomed Ghobash’s visit, stressing that the mutual official visits between the two countries underscore their deep-rooted relations. He then congratulated the UAE for joining the BRICS Group, noting that the UAE has established partnerships with various countries around the globe. He also highlighted China’s keenness to exchange expertise with the UAE in areas of governance. “Next year, we will celebrate the fifth anniversary of the strategic partnership between the two countries,” Zheng said, lauding the UAE for its support for areas related to not intervening in the internal affairs of countries and its efforts to improve its scientific, cultural and humanitarian cooperation with many countries. He then highlighted China’s support for the UAE 2031 Vision and its keenness to promote cooperation in the energy, infrastructure, technolo
gy, education, culture and civil aviation sectors. He also pointed out his country’s support for the UAE’s hosting of COP28 due to its keenness to participate in the global climate action efforts. Ghobash expressed his happiness at visiting China, highlighting the importance of meetings with Chinese officials. He also appreciated the invitation of the Chinese parliament’s speaker to visit the country. The bilateral relations between the UAE and China are witnessing ongoing development, and next year, they will celebrate the 40th anniversary of their diplomatic ties, he said. The UAE appreciates China’s support in a range of areas, most notably its support for the UAE’s efforts to join BRICS, he added. Ghobash highlighted his confidence that Chinese representatives participating in COP28 will play a major role in the event’s success in achieving its desired outcomes.
