DUBAI, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) received 4,056 requests for electricity connection through Al Namoos service in 2022, an increase of 6.1 percent compared to 2021. Al Namoos (an Emirati word for a winner in a race) service enables electricity connection to projects up to 150 kilowatts in just two steps and within five days. It underlines DEWA’s efforts to facilitate industrial, commercial, and residential projects, and to provide all the necessary capabilities and smart services that help partners carry out their work easily and save their time and effort. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA said, “DEWA works in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to encourage investments. It strives to remove all obstacles to ensure investor success, and maintain Dubai’s position as an investment hub and a land of opportunities and achievements.

It encourages innovation to streamline and speed up getting electricity services following the highest international standards and practices. Rashid Bin Humaidan, Executive Vice President of Distribution Power at DEWA, said that the number of accredited consultants and contractors at DEWA had reached 2,495 until 31 December 2022.
Consultants and contractors can complete their transactions through DEWA’s website (www.dewa.gov.ae) and smart app, without visiting DEWA’s offices, saving their time and effort.
