Head of the Nuclear Power Plants Authority in Egypt, Amgad El-Wakil, announced today that “the marine pier is ready to receive the first long-term equipment for the Dabaa nuclear power plant, and the pouring of concrete for the reactor has been completed,” according to “Russia Today” news agency.
He stressed that “the arrival of the first long-term equipment during the next two weeks is the most important step for the Egyptian nuclear dream to come to light on the ground, and the transition from the construction stage to the installation of equipment,” noting that “the Dabaa nuclear power plant is the culmination of Egyptian-Russian cooperation over the past 80 years since the inception of Egyptian-Russian diplomatic relations.”
El-Wakil added, “Egyptians have the right to rejoice in the implementation of their long-awaited nuclear dream,” pointing out that “the speed witnessed by this nuclear plant in terms of procedures is a result of following a scientific approach and determining what the Egyptian side wants.”
