Egypt to start evacuating nationals living outside Khartoum

The Foreign Ministry urged on Sunday 23/4/2023 nationals living outside Sudan to head for the nearest point to be evacuated.

Nationals are urged to head for the Egyptian consulate in Port Sudan or Wadi Halfa office in northern Sudan ahead of evacuation.

Egyptians in Sudan can contact the diplomatic mission in Wadi Halfa in northern Sudan at (00249) 0116604033 or (00249) 0118162679 and the diplomatic mission in Port Sudan at (00249) 906398621.

The move comes as part of Egyptian authorities’ follow up to the developments of the Sudanese crisis.

As for those living in Khartoum, the ministry urged them to stay home and avoid areas of tension and security turmoil.

The ministry also urged expats to stay calm and maintain communications with the Egyptian diplomatic and consular representatives in Sudan until instructions related to evacuation are issued.
