Egypt win Junior World Fencing Championships

Youth and Sports Minister Ashraf Sobhi on Sunday congratulated the national team on winning the gold medal in the men’s junior team epee at the 2022 Junior and Cadet Fencing World Championships.

Egypt won the gold medal with a 45-40 score against USA. In the semifinal round, USA beat Switzerland, 43-37, while Egypt defeated France, 45-35.

The victory reflects the development of Egyptian fencing and the ability of national fencers to make achievements and win various titles, the minister said.

The tournament took place at Hamdan Sports Complex. There were 42 men’s and 33 women’s teams participating.
