Amman: Senate Speaker Faisal Fayez called on Wednesday in a meeting in Cairo with Egyptian Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouly on establishing an economic and customs union for Arab countries to meet the challenges of sustainable development.

The meeting focused on strengthening Jordanian-Egyptian cooperation in political, economic, investment and regional developments, according to a Senate statement.

Fayez said Jordan is “proud of the high level” of relations between Jordan and Egypt, adding that they are “solid and strategic.”

Fayez urged more Jordanian-Egyptian partnerships and cooperation to remove obstacles to joint investment or the flow of binary commercial activity.

Madbouly expressed his “pride” in the two countries relations and their development in political, economic, social and parliamentary areas, describing them as “distinguished and strong.”
