First delivery in a woman with COVID-19 in Daraa Hospital

The first delivery in a woman with COVID-19 was registered on Wednesday at the Department of Medical Isolation in Daraa Hospital.

 

Patient, Alaa Habakzi, was referred to the Emergency Department at Daraa Hospital, as she had been transferred from Ezra National Hospital, with a suspected case of coronavirus, and she was pregnant in the eighth month with symptoms of dyspnea, fever, dry cough and vomiting, Director of the Hospital Dr. Bassam al-Hariri told SANA.

 

Al-Hariri added “The first aid was performed, a coronavirus swab was taken and she was accepted in the isolation department after she tested positive for COVID-19.”

 

Habakzi gave birth to her baby in the medical isolation department and the newly born was put in the incubator to track his health status. The woman is recovering gradually under the supervision of healthcare workers specialized in the coronavirus cases.
