Caretaker Foreign Minister, Abdallah Bou Habib, held on Monday a series of diplomatic meetings and contacts within the framework of the preemptive diplomatic action aimed at prevent escalation in the region.He respectively met today with ambassadors Dorothy Shea (USA), Marion Weichelt (Switzerland), Alexander Rudakov (Russia), Magoshi Masayuki (Japan), Qian Minjian (China), Herve Magro (France) Mauricio Alice (Argentina), and Hamish Cowell (UK).Talks reportedly touched on the latest developments in Gaza Strip and South Lebanon, with Bou Habib highlighting Lebanon’s wish to avoid any escalation. He also warned against the “repercussions of the unlimited support for Israel on regional peace and security” and “Israel’s violations of the international humanitarian law.”Bou Habib later hold phone calls with his Australian and Dutch counterpart, Penny Wong Hanke Bruins Slot, respectively, with whom he discussed the necessity of ending escalation.
