Lebanon’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants strongly condemned, in an issued statement on Sunday, “the aggressive Israeli plans to storm the city of Rafah, in continuation of the ongoing war on the Gaza Strip and the forced displacement of Palestinians.”

The Ministry called on the UN Security Council ‘to assume its responsibilities by adopting a decision for an immediate ceasefire and the entry of humanitarian aid to the Palestinians, leading to the recognition of the Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with the relevant resolutions of international legitimacy and in accordance with the principles of international law.’
