Mulki, Jordan: Former Prime Minister Hani Mulki emphasized Jordan’s firm stance against the forced displacement of the Palestinian people from their lands in the West Bank and Gaza. He made this statement during a session at the Jordanian Economic Forum on Sunday.

According to Jordan News Agency, Mulki, who currently chairs the Arab, International and Expatriates Affairs Committee in the Senate, reiterated that Jordan had declared its opposition to the forced displacement of Palestinians at the onset of the Israeli war on Gaza. Jordan perceives such actions as a declaration of war. Mulki underscored Jordan’s crucial role in the Arab world, stating, “Jordan is the safety valve for the entire Arab nation.” He called for the formation of a unified Arab consciousness regarding the Palestinian cause.

Mulki noted a significant shift in the dynamics of the war on the besieged enclave compared to previous conflicts. He observed that for the first time, Israel’s actions and policies were being scrutinized globally due to the diminishing exclusivity of Western media. The global public opinion, increasingly informed by social media rather than traditional media outlets, has started to challenge Israeli narratives and bring international attention to the Palestinian struggle, highlighting the injustices faced by the Palestinian people under long-standing Israeli occupation.

Furthermore, Mulki commented on Israel’s reliance on the United States for support and protection, suggesting that this dependence has raised doubts about Israel’s self-defense capabilities. He also pointed out that this reliance creates uncertainty about Israel’s ability to maintain its role as a strategic and military pillar in the Middle East.
