Health Ministry, UNICEF discuss ways to boost cooperation to secure medical equipment

Minister of Health, Hassan al-Ghabbash, discussed on Tuesday with Regional Director of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in the Middle East and North Africa, Adel Khader, ways of cooperation in securing medical equipment that provides services to citizens.

Minister al-Ghabbash stressed the importance of coordination regarding the priorities of the health sector set by the ministry and the challenges it face in light of the unilateral economic measures and the blockade imposed on Syria.

He called for more support in order to provide the service to ensure the preservation of the citizens’ health, expressing his thanks for the efforts undertaken by UNICEF in Syria.

For her part, Khader affirmed readiness for more coordination and cooperation, noting the efforts exerted by the ministry at all levels.
