ROME: The first batch of 11 wounded children accompanied by family members from the war-torn Gaza arrived in Rome, Italy, to receive further medical treatment in Italian hospitals.

Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Italy, Abeer Odeh, stressed that this humanitarian initiative by Italy, which offered treatment to over one hundred Palestinian children in Italian hospitals, should be coupled with effective measures and adequate political positions, including demanding Israel to stop its genocide against Palestinians immediately and recognizing the state of Palestine.

The number of wounded in the Gaza Strip has exceeded 67 thousand, which proves the savagery of the Israeli occupation, she stressed.

The brutal aggression on Gaza has left only 14 of 36 hospitals in Gaza partially functional, including nine in the south and six others in the north.
