Higher Education Ministry, WHO discuss Health cooperation

Damascus, SANA-Minister of Higher Education, Bassam Bashir Ibrahim discussed with the acting representative of the World Health Organization in Syria, Iman al-Shanqiti ways to promote joint cooperation in health field.

Ibrahim highlighted the WHO contribution to supporting university hospitals with medical and technical equipment during the years of war and the economic siege imposed on Syria.

He praised the WHO continued efforts to establish cooperation projects in the automation of hospitals and electronic connectivity, which would contribute to updating data and providing the best services to citizens, in addition to holding training courses and medical conferences aimed at keeping up to date on new medical developments.

For her part, al-Shanqiti pointed out the organization’s readiness to provide all the necessary expertise and needs , and organize seminars and scientific workshops, and review the latest methods used globally in applying the medical protocol and the guideline in prevention, treatment, and patient safety and health sector workers.
