Basra / NINA / – The press family in Basra Governorate celebrates this Friday evening, the 133-year anniversary of Basra journalism, in the hall of Al-Maqel Private University, with a celebration held by the Journalists Syndicate branch, in the presence of the Governor of Basra, Asaad Al-Eidani, the Head of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, Moayad Al-Lami, government officials, heads of unions, organizations, and intellectuals, and a gathering of the people of the province.
The Head of the Syndicate’s branch in Basra, Sadiq al-Ali, told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that this year’s celebration will be attended by the head of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, Moayed al-Lami, and a large group of journalists.
He added, “A number of Iraqi artists and the Al-Khashabha troupe will also participate in the ceremony, and they will present Basra folklore.”/ End
