NABLUS: Israeli colonists, under the protection of the occupation army, leveled tonight large swathes of land in the town of Qasra, south of Nablus.

Anti-settlement activist Fu’ad Hassan told WAFA that colonists, using machinery, leveled large swathes of land adjacent to the Israeli Magdolim colony, built illegally on the town’s land.

DUBAI: Tim Davis, Manager of the International Broadcast Centre of the UNFCCC, has expressed his appreciation for the outstanding media services provided during COP28 in Dubai. Davis commended the facilities, stating, “All the facilities that we find here are excellent. I commend Dubai for putting in the investment to be able to give the media what they require.”

In a statement to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) at COP28, Davis remarked, “This year the challenges have been less,” even with an increased media presence compared to previous years.

With the media landscape constantly evolving, Davis acknowledged the shift towards internet-driven devices, highlighting the increasing importance of robust internet infrastructure. He commended Dubai for investing in state-of-the-art facilities, resulting in a smooth operational experience with minimal problems, a rare occurrence in his extensive 18-year COP history.

Davis affirmed that the Dubai team proactively addressed challenges faced by the media. He noted tha
t the internet capacity was doubled or even tripled to accommodate the growing demand for bandwidth.

Highlighting the expansive nature of his role, Davis coordinates the needs of TV, radio, photographers, and journalists attending the conference. His primary responsibility is to ensure seamless coverage by providing necessary facilities, enabling broadcasters to receive signals, photographers to capture compelling visuals, and journalists to convey the global significance of COP.
