Beirut: A Lebanese security official Monday said Israeli forces bombed southern Lebanese towns with phosphorus shells.

He added that Israeli artillery targeted the town of Kafr Kila with phosphorus shells amid sweeping operations with machine guns from Metulla towards the Kafr Kila.

The Israeli artillery bombardment targeted Taybeh, Houla, Khiam Detention Center, Mays al-Jabal, Deir Mimas, Marwahin, Shihin, Yarin, Al-Bustan towns and the Marjayoun Plain.
