RAMALLAH: Israeli occupation forces detained since yesterday evening at least 25 Palestinians, including children, a woman and prisoners freed from Israeli jails, from the occupied West Bank.

The Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs Commission and the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) stated that the detention operations focused on occupied Jerusalem, following the arrival of hundreds of worshipers to perform Friday prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque. The remaining detentions took place in the governorates of Hebron, Nablus, Tulkarem, and Qalqilia.

This brings the total number of Palestinians detained since October 7th to about 7870, including those who were detained from their homes, at military checkpoints, those who surrendered under pressure and those who were taken as hostages.

The Commission and PPS reported that the ongoing and escalating detention operations that began after October 7th, which targeted children, women, the elderly and the sick came as part of the comprehensive Israeli occupation’s aggressi
on against the Palestinian people and its ongoing genocidal war against the Gaza Strip.
