Israeli settlers, protected by the Israeli occupation forces, Wednesday stormed the vicinity of the Solomon’s Pools tourist area, south of the occupied West Bank city of Bethlehem. The director of the Office of the Wall and Settlement Resistance Authority in Bethlehem, Hassan Barijiyah, told WAFA that a number of settlers stormed the vicinity of the third pond, specifically al-Atan area. He added Palestinian citizens tried to confront the settlers and thus confrontations broke out with the occupation forces. In a later development, the coordinator of the Factional Coordination Committee, Mohammad al-Jaafari, reported that a number of Palestinians suffered from suffocation due to gas fired by the occupation forces at citizens who confronted the settlers’ incursions, and that grasses caught fire at the site of the incursion. It is noteworthy that the Suleiman Pools tourist area and the surrounding area have been subjected to violations by the occupation forces and settlers for some time, the last of which o
ccurred three days ago.
