The Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Supply in Jordan, in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, the Jordan Chamber of Industry, and the Royal Scientific Society, has initiated a project to promote efficient resource use and cleaner production practices in industrial facilities. This initiative is backed by a grant from the European Union and focuses on enhancing sustainable practices across the industrial sector.

According to Jordan News Agency, the project aims to provide technical and advisory services to 15 industrial facilities throughout Jordan. It is designed to encourage the adoption of cleaner production methods and more efficient resource utilization. The services will be tailored to the size of the beneficiary factories, whether they are large, medium, or small.

This project aligns with Jordan’s economic modernization vision, which includes government initiatives to support industrial sectors. It builds on recent efforts to implement circular economy practices in industrial activities and develop environmentally focused industrial complexes. The Ministry’s efforts are geared towards improving the competitiveness of Jordan’s industrial sectors by increasing productivity, reducing production costs, complying with environmental standards, mitigating investment risks, and enhancing the carbon footprint. Furthermore, the project aims to position local factories to meet global requirements, thereby facilitating their access to new markets.
