Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Saeed Khatibzadeh has affirmed the importance of President Bashar al-Assad’s visit to Tehran and his meeting with senior Iranian officials.
“The visit of president Bashar al-Assad to Tehran conveys a very important message that Syria has entered a new phase,” Khatibzadeh said in his weekly press conference on Monday.
He noted that his country is one of the most important countries that has helped Syria in its war against terrorism and it seeks to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields.
In a related context, Director-General of the Iranian Negahe No Agency Mahdi Azizi said in a statement to SANA correspondent in Tehran that the visit of President al-Assad is of great importance, particularly as both countries have strategic relations and they have fought the war against terrorism and achieved joint victories and they are subjected to pressures, siege and unjust sanctions. Therefore, coordination in important files at the highest levels is a message to all those who try to harm these strategic relations.
He highlighted the importance of the visit in dealing with the economic file, as there are multiple areas and various possibilities for bilateral cooperation, which not only serve the two countries, but also the neighboring countries.
In a similar statement, International Affairs Editor at the University Students News Agency, Hassan Niyia said that this visit is of great importance at the current time, in light of the developments in the region and the world, and carries important messages that Syrian-Iranian relations are constantly strengthening and opening a new chapter in the economic and strategic relations between the two countries.
