BEIRUT, Lebanon’s caretaker Foreign Minister Charbel Wahbe, on Wednesday, submitted his resignation to President Michel Aoun, asking to be relieved of his duties.
In a statement, the Lebanese Presidency said that minister Wahbe had submitted a request to step down from his duties in light of the recent developments and the circumstances that accompanied the interview he gave to a television station.
The Lebanese minister had an interview with Al-Hurra TV, which sparked a great controversy due to his statements against the Gulf States, which led to a large wave of condemnation locally and abroad.
