Beirut: Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati lauded on Monday the role of the UNIFIL forces operating in southern Lebanon, especially in limiting Israel’s violations of the Blue Line.
Mikati and UNIFIL Force Commander, General Aroldo Lazzaro, discussed, in Beirut, the situation along the Blue Line and in UNIFIL’s area of operations.
They touched on the preparations for the preparation of the report of the Secretary-General of the United Nations on the implementation of UN Resolution 1701.
The meeting comes less than 24 hours after Lebanese border security forced an Israeli armoured vehicle to withdraw after violating the Blue Line.
