Local development min. and South Sinai governor review arrangements for hosting COP 27 in Sharm El Sheikh in 2022

Local Development Minister Mahmoud Sharawi had a meeting on Tuesday with South Sinai Governor Khalid Fouda to follow up necessary arrangements for hosting the UN Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC COP 27) in Sharm El Sheikh in 2022.

 

The meeting aimed at following up President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives on expediting the implementation of development and service projects related to turning Sharm El-Sheikh into a green and sustainable city.

 

During the meeting, Sharawi asserted the government’s keenness on rendering this international event successful in line with the political leadership’s directives.

 

He also underlined that Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli is following up this file with all ministries and relevant bodies to mobilize all State potentials to achieve major economic gains from this event and promote tourism.

 

Fouda also briefed the minister on efforts exerted by the executive bodies in South Sinai within the framework of preparations for the fourth edition of the World Youth Forum (WYF), which will be held in January, under the auspices of President Sisi.
