Finance Minister Mohamed Maait affirmed keenness on holding direct contact with the business community in order to get acquainted with any obstacles besetting them.
The move would contribute to beefing up investment, encouraging investors to enhance their activities, especially in light of the current global challenges, added the minister during his meeting with the Egyptian Industrialists Association under the chairmanship of Walid Helal on Tuesday 28/6/2022.
The State gives prior attention to localizing industry and enhancing local production, due to their crucial roles in attaining development and economic growth, added the minister.
The State has launched several initiatives to encourage the industrial community and the exports sector, he went on to say.
One of the outcomes of the societal dialogue with the business community, the draft law to override part of the delay fine and the additional taxes, which is currently being discussed by the House of Representatives, said the minister.
For his part, Helal voiced appreciation for the finance minister’s keenness on interacting with the industrial community and getting acquainted with the challenges facing them, including taxes and customs.
