Mass held at the Mariamite Cathedral of Damascus on the New Year

The Mariamite Cathedral of Damascus held on Saturday a mass, led by Patriarch John X of Antioch and All the East for Greek Orthodox, in celebration of the New Year.

 

Bishop Ephraim Maalouli, Metropolitan of Aleppo ,Alexandretta and their Surroundings delivered the sermon of the mass in which he asserted the noble meaning of the birth of the Christ ,Messenger of love and peace, saying : “We need the God’s mercy and care  as the epidemic is still present and we lost a lot of loved ones”

 

Maalouli went on to say “ We pray for the peace in Syria to get out the war waged against it but the repercussions are still besiege its people in their livelihood and economy”.

 

He concluded “Our prayers for peoples in every occupied country and for the peace in all the world”, praying God also to save Syria ,its leader and people”.

 

The mass was followed by a prayer for blessings to prevail the country ,and for the new year to bring goodness, safety and stability all across Syria.
