Damascus, SANA- Foreign and Expatriates Minister Dr. Fayssal Mikdad and his Iranian counterpart, Hossein Amir Abdollahian , stressed the necessity to respect Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
In a press conference with his Iranian counterpart, Minister Mikdad said that any meetings with the Turkish side must be built on the basis of respecting Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, ending the occupation and stopping support for terrorism.
Mikdad added that this visit comes in light of new developments in the region and the two countries, and constant challenges from Western countries, led by the US and the Zionist entity.
For his part, Abdollahian stressed that the relations between Iran and Syria are going through their best conditions, and that the two countries are determined to expand them economically and commercially to reach the level of political relations.
Abdollahian added that it was agreed to renew the long-term strategic cooperation document between the two countries to be signed in the near future.
