Mikdad meets Palestinian President on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meetings

New York,SANA- The meeting Which was held between Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Minister of Foreign and expatriates affairs, Fayssal Mikdad, on the sidelines of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly dealt with the latest developments in occupied Palestine and the ongoing Israeli aggression .

President Abbas reviewed the efforts exerted by Palestine on the international arena to defend the rights of the Palestinian people.

Mikdad said Syria condemns the Israeli occupation practices against the Palestinians.
He stressed that Syria stands by the Palestinian people with their struggle to liberate their occupied lands and establish their independent and sovereign state with Jerusalem as its capital.


In the same regard, Minister Mikdad met the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Nikola Silakovic, with the two ministers discussing developments on the international arena, as well as ways to develop bilateral relations between the two friendly countries at various political, economic and cultural levels.

In turn, Minister Silakovich underlined his country’s support for restoring security and stability in Syria, calling for respecting Syria’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity.
