Minister: Egypt, Saudi Arabia cooperate to face terrorism, extremism groups

Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa has asserted Egypt and Saudi Arabia are cooperating to genuinely face terrorist and extremist groups.

The two countries work for spreading the true teachings of Islam, added Gomaa during talks Saudi Minister of Islamic Affairs, Da’wah and Guidance Abdullatif Al Sheikh and his accompanying delegation.

The Saudi official is taking part in the 32th conference of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, to convene in Cairo on February 12.

Gomaa pointed out to long-running cooperation between the two ministries in Egypt and Saudi Arabia on all fronts.

Egypt and Saudi Arabia focus efforts on serving religion, homeland and nation, in addition to rectifying the image of Islam, he noted.

Gomaa said citizenship and global peace are an open-ended, joint and humanitarian conference.

In turn, the Saudi minister thanked Gomaa for inviting him to attend the conference, which will come up with resolutions serving humanity at large.
