Minister: State pays great attention to foreign students in Egypt

Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhy asserted the Egyptian State is paying a greater attention to foreign students who quenched their thirst for learning with studying in Egypt on all fronts, according to a statement by his ministry.

Foreign students in Egypt feel as if they are in their homeland, he said, adding the country is investing in them touristically and helps them to convey a good impression about Egypt in a move meant to promote the tourism movement in the country, added the statement.

Sobhy’s remarks came as a number of African students are participating in the activities of the “Youth Train” to Luxor and Aswan as part of “Know Your Country” program during the period between January 28-February 4.

The African pupils are studying in different Egyptian universities.

“Know Your Country” offers an opportunity to learn more about the history of Egypt and see the various tourist and archaeological attractions of the country on the ground.

The annual program is held by the central administration for cultural and volunteering programs in cooperation with the African Association.

The program organizes a number of tours for youth in many tourist and archaeological sites in Luxor. They visited the Karnak Temple, Luxor Temple, Rams Road, Deir al Bahari Temple and the West Bank.

It aims at promoting domestic tourism and raising tourism and archaeological awareness of Egyptians, especially youth.
