Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health on Monday denied what it described as ‘inaccurate and exaggerated news being circulated by some media outlets about a new wave of Coronavirus in Lebanon.’ In this regard, the Ministry clarified in a statement that Covid-19, according to the World Health Organization, is no longer a ‘health emergency of international concern’. ‘It still appears in Lebanon, as in other countries, through waves that are often linked to an increase in activities and tourist or family gatherings. Lebanon has recently witnessed an increase in cases, which coincided with the tourist season and the increase in arrivals to the country. However, most of the recorded cases have been mild with no complications that required hospitalization,’ the statement added.
