Moscow calls for resolving the crisis in Syria in a political way

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov reiterated the need to resolve the crisis in Syria politically in accordance with UN Resolution 2254 and to provide humanitarian aid without politicization.

Lavrov, during a press conference with Qatari Minister of Foreign Affairs in Moscow on Monday, stressed the need for the international community to increase urgent humanitarian aid to the Syrians and provide it without politicization, foremost of which is support for the implementation of early recovery projects for the economy, including supplying electricity, services, medical and educational facilities and infrastructure.

Lavrov stressed during his last two meetings with the UN Special Envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen in Moscow and Antalya, the need to resume the work of the Committee of Discussing the Constitution in Geneva at the end of March away from any external interference.
