Al-Jaafari, General Secretary of Norwegian Church Aid discuss cooperation

Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Bashar al-Jaafari and General Secretary of Norwegian Church Aid (NCA), Dagfinn Høybråten discussed Monday the NCA work in Syria in water, sanitation and protection fields.

Al-Jaafari underlined the importance role of the NCA organization in easing the Syrians’ suffering, noting that the coercive unilateral illegitimate economic measures imposed on Syria are the main reason of this suffering, in the economic, water, and other fields.

Al-Jaafari indicated that the Norwegian Church Aid and other NGOs must abide the provisions of Security Council Resolution No. 2585 regarding the need to move from humanitarian aid stage to early recovery one.

He stressed the importance of signing a Memo of understanding between the organization and the Water Resources Ministry with the aim of finding ways to support humanitarian activities in Syria.

He called on the organization to benefit from its partnership with the Syria Trust for Development, to implement the projects and programs scheduled in this year’s plan.

For his part, General Secretary of the organization presented the most important programs and projects being implemented by the organization in the domains of water and others in Syria.
