Judge Mohamed Abdelsalam, Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders, has met with His Eminence Allahshukur Pashazadeh, Grand Mufti of Azerbaijan and the Caucasus. During the meeting, the parties discussed ways to promote inter-Islamic dialogue and the Muslim Council of Elders’ efforts in the Caucasus region. During the meeting, Judge Abdelsalam highlighted the significant role of religious leaders in countering contemporary global challenges by promoting peace and coexistence among followers of different religions as well as empowering young people to positively contribute to their societies. For his part, Pashazadeh expressed that Muslims in Azerbaijan and the Caucasus appreciate the efforts of the Muslim Council of Elders under the Chairmanship of His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, in promoting peace, dialogue and coexistence. He looked forward to cooperating with the Muslim Council of Elders on future initiatives that promote inter-Islamic, inter-religious and intercultural dialogue.
