The daily Israeli incursions into West Bank cities and towns that often lead to arrests and injuries as well as threats to resume assassinations were highlighted on the front page of the three Palestinian Arabic dailies published today.
‘Five injuries during an incursion into Tulkarm refugee camp, uprooting of dozens of trees in Tuquo and Madama,’ was the main front-page story headline in al-Ayyam daily.
A more or less similar headline appeared in al-Hayat al-Jadida daily on this topic but lower on the front page, while the main story focused on the issue of the Palestinians killed by Israel whose bodies have been withheld for years.
All the dailies highlighted this topic on their front page and said Palestinians commemorated ‘the national day for getting back the bodies of the martyrs.’
The third daily, al-Quds, while also reporting on the two above topics, highlighted in its main front-page story threats by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to assassinate Hamas leader Saleh Arouri, who, the paper said, later appeared in an army uniform.
Al-Quds also said in another headline: ‘Jordanian-US talks on the Palestinian issue.’
It said Israel deported without any warning a Palestinian woman to Gaza and separated her from her 12 children who live in an Arab town in Israel. It said the woman has lived in Israel for 30 years, married a Palestinian from the Naqab and had 12 children.
It also said in a story from the Naqab desert in the south of Israel that Palestinian activists say Israel is fighting demographic growth in the Naqab.
Al-Ayyam said a Palestinian delegation met with a US diplomat and the Saudi ambassador in Amman, Jordan.
It said the UN chief and the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court are going to visit Palestine in October.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida reported on the meeting of Foreign Minister Riyad Malki in Asia.
It said the money available in the budget of the Palestinian Authority’s Finance Ministry was not enough to meet its obligations.
