Manama, President of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) Ali Ahmed Al Derazi received Projects Officer at the Department of Labor Mobility and Social Inclusion at the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Nihal Akl.
Al Derazi reviewed the institution’s role in advancing human rights, especially those related to expatriate workers, and the institution’s efforts to study and follow up the laws regulating domestic workers and educate them on their rights.
The meeting discussed cooperation with the IOM to unify efforts in areas related to employment and human rights.
Akl appreciated the institution’s effective role in protecting human rights and its humanitarian efforts towards expatriate workers, praising the measures taken by Bahrain to provide a suitable work environment for expatriate workers.
