An official source denied the cancelation of medical exemptions granted to citizens who are not covered by health insurance and royal medical services.

The source told the Jordan News Agency (Petra) that medical exemptions will continue to be provided through the Royal Hashemite Court.

The medical exemptions work mechanism will remain as is in terms of conditions, and will be provided to those who do not have any health insurance from the Ministry of Health or the Royal Medical Services, the source added.

It explained that the entity through which medical exemptions will be issued is the Royal Hashemite Court, as was the case previously, and not through the government.

He said that exemptions will continue to be granted as agreed upon by MPs, and through the Ministry of Political and Parliamentary Affairs, which will in turn submit them to the Royal Hashemite Court and then return them to the MPs.

He pointed out that medical exemptions will be granted to citizens between the ages of 6 and 60 years old who are not covered by insurance and royal medical services, noting that those under 6 years and over 60 years are covered by health insurance automatically.

With regard to cancer patients, the source confirmed that medical exemptions will continue to be granted to them without any change in the mechanism in force.
