Jeddah, The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Secretary General’s Special Envoy for Afghanistan Ambassador Tarig Ali Bakheet met with Afghan Minister of Education Mawlawi Habibullah Agha today, while on a visit to Kabul.

Bakheet said that discussions followed up on the implementation of the final communiqué of the special meeting of the Executive Committee on Humanitarian Affairs in Afghanistan, and urged reconsidering the recent decisions taken by the Afghan de facto authorities regarding women’s work and girls’ education.

The minister affirmed his ministry’s commitment and endeavour to provide a safe environment for girls’ education and revise educational curricula, and stressed the importance of OIC member states’ support for the educational infrastructure in Afghanistan.
