Muscat, Oman 22nd International English Language Teaching (ELT) Hybrid Conference kicked off today at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) under the theme “The 21st Century Language Classroom: Challenges and Opportunities.

The opening ceremony of the two-day event was held under the auspices of Sheikh Ahmed Mohammed Al Nadabi, Secretary General of the Shura Council.

Many academics and teachers specialized in the field of ELT from Oman and other countries took part in the conference.

This year’s conference focuses on the topic of community service, in line with the goals of SQU and Oman Vision 2040.

The event also aims to create a platform that enables English language teachers to meet with each other virtually to discuss ways to improve their teaching at different stages in their careers by learning new and creative teaching methods.

Several lectures and workshops are held on the sidelines of the conference.
