RAMALLAH: Palestinian detainees held in occupation jails are facing unprecedented retaliatory and various forms of maltreatment, including physical and psychological abuse, according to a joint statement issued today by the Detainees Affairs Authority and the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS).

The two organizations discussed the horrific conditions and the unprecedented measures imposed by the Israeli Prison Service against the Palestinian detainees who were detained after October 7 and still continuing until today.

The most prominent issue that the two organizations focused on during prisoners visits was the issue of the so-called security examination, which turned into a tool used by occupation army against the detainees as a way to humiliate and abuse them.

They also recounted brief testimonies from detainees, specifically those who were detained in the past months of October and November, involving the systematic torture and abuse they were subjected to during their arrest and interrogation in the o
ccupation’s interrogation centers.

They also highlighted the starvation policy and the deliberate medical negligence pursued by the Israeli prison service (IPS) against Palestinian male and female prisoners in prisons.
