Palestinians and Arabs marked today the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian people, which coincides with the passage of the unjust United Nations Resolution 181 on November 29, 1947, which partitioned Palestine into an Arab and Jewish states.

Rallies and marches were held in several Palestinian cities and at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo.

In Ramallah, hundreds of Palestinians participated in the march, calling on the United Nations to assume its responsibilities, play its role, and implement its decisions related to Palestine.

Participants in the march, called for by the national forces, federations and unions, walked the streets of Ramallah chanting slogans denouncing the Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people, and its ongoing massacres against the people of the Gaza Strip.

They called for national unity to confront the crimes of the Israeli occupation and stressed the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state while calling on the international
community to intervene urgently to stop the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip and immediately stop its war of genocide and crimes.

In Hebron in the south of the West Bank, participants in the rally also demanded an end to Israel’s war of genocide waged against the Gaza Strip, stressing their rejection of displacement and expulsion of Palestinians from their homeland, and calling for the release of the Palestinian detainees held in the Israeli prisons.

The League of Arab States also today commemorated the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People at its Cairo headquarters with a stand organized to emphasize the centrality of the Palestinian issue, and full support and solidarity with the Palestinian people in their legitimate struggle for freedom and independence.

The Assistant Secretary-General for Palestine Affairs and the Occupied Arab Territories, Saeed Abu Ali, representing the Arab League’s Secretary-General, said during the gathering attended by representatives of member sta
tes of the General Secretariat, international organizations in Cairo, and employees of the General Secretariat, that this international day, which falls on the 29th of November, every November, and this stand express support for the struggle of and solidarity with the Palestinian people as they are subjected to a policy of ethnic cleansing and genocide practiced by the Israeli occupation authorities.
