Petroleum min.: Launching early gold production plan in Iqat region

Petroleum Minister Tareq Mulla announced an ambitious plan for early gold production of Iqat region in the Egyptian Eastern Desert in the coming period.

 

This came in the first general assembly meeting of Iqat company, the Petroleum Ministry said in a statement on Saturday 27/11/2021, noting that the Iqat discovery is promising.

 

Mulla noted that holding the first meeting of the company is part of the ministry’s plans for developing the mining sector to further contribute to GDP.

 

He gave directives to take all needed measures to offer facilities, develop infrastructure, and commit to safety measures.

 

Iqat will be the third gold excavation company in Egypt, he noted.

 

Chairman of the company Mohamed Assar said holding the meeting will give momentum to the new company in order to achieve its goals.
