PM affirms need to implement automotive industry strategy

Under the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli stressed the need of drawing up an integrated strategy within this month for implementing the local automotive industry and relevant supply industries.

 

Madbouli’s remarks came during a meeting on Thursday 3/2/2022 to follow up on steps taken for launching Egypt’s auto industry strategy. The meeting, also attended by a host of ministers and state officials, took up discussions to agree on executive steps of the strategy.

 

Trade and Industry Minister Nevine Gamea, for her part, said a meeting was held with the agents of private automotive companies, during which they discussed issues related to the auto industry strategy.

 

A meeting was also held with the finance minister and an agreement was reached on the procedures and entities responsible of implementing this vital strategy, added the minister.

 

The strategy will stimulate the automotive industry and car components sector, in addition to exporting them, affirmed the minister.
