PM follows up implementation of expropriation decisions

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli chaired a meeting on Thursday 3/2/2022 to follow up the implementation of decisions of expropriation and compensations regarding projects of roads and axes nationwide.

Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala el Saeed and Minister of Transport Kamel el Wazir took part in the virtual meeting, held via videoconferencing. Madbouli said the meeting aimed at probing mechanisms for completing the implementation of the projects.

He said the State is carrying out several major developmental projects and the government seeks to implement them as soon as possible.

Said said efforts are focused now on providing financial allocations needed for dispossession and compensation decisions.

A value of EGP 3.1 billion will be provided to the General Authority for Roads & Bridges out of EGP 8.6 billion requested by the authority, added Saeed.

Work is under way to offer the remaining cash, she said.

Governorates will receive financial allocations at a value of EGP 2.7 billion as compensations, according to her.

In turn, Wazir talked about projects that are now being carried out by the ministry and required compensations.

The meeting discussed the giant project aimed at developing the Ring Road around Greater Cairo and various projects to upgrade some main roads and axes nationwide.
